Crew Invites Are Live: One Link, Thirty Seconds, Done

The number one request from our beta skippers wasn't really a feature. It was a feeling: "I just want to send someone a link and have them on my crew list. No friction, no ceremony."

Done. That's exactly how it works now.

How It Works

Every boat in QuarterMates has an invite link. Share it however you like: WhatsApp, email, printed on a flyer in the yacht club, written on the whiteboard next to the tide table. We don't judge.

When someone clicks it, they create an account (or log in if they have one) and they're on your crew roster. That's it. No approval queue, no pending request, no searching for your boat among twelve other boats called Freya.

The link expires after seven days, and you can generate a fresh one any time from the crew page. Old links stop working, which is exactly what you want when the link has been sitting on a whiteboard.

Why We Sweated This

The classic flow ("download the app, make an account, search for the boat, request to join, wait") is where crew sign-ups go to die. Nobody completes five steps on their phone in a marina car park. Most people give up at step two and go back to sending thumbs-ups.

Email invitations are coming in the next couple of weeks: type in your crew's addresses and we send a proper invite on your behalf, so you don't have to chase anyone.
